Juniper Mountain RNA

Juniper Mountain Research Natural Area (RNA) was established to represent an old growth western juniper (Juniperus occidentalis) woodland on a relatively isolated tall mountain. Western juniper dominates the mountain and expands to surrounding mountain big sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata ssp. vaseyana) grassland. Idaho fescue (Festuca idahoensis) is also common throughout the RNA.
