Fish Lake Bog Research Natural Area (RNA) was established to represent an eastern Cascade marshland-bog, a low elevation wetland, and surrounding upland forest communities. The RNA is located in the bottom of a glacially derived valley. Surrounding areas are steep and rugged with adjacent ridges and peaks. Fish Lake includes an outlet known as Fish Lake Run, which is a low gradient stream that drains into the Wenatchee River. Buxbaum's sedge (Carex buxbaumii), bristly sedge (Carex comosa), pine broomrape (Orobanche pinorum) and bulb-bearing waterhemlock (Cicuta bulbifera) are sensitive species present throughout the RNA.
