Eldorado Creek Research Natural Area (RNA) was established to represent serpentine barrens and mid-elevation serpentine stream and riparian systems. Both igneous and metamorphic forms of ultramafic rock predominate in the Eldorado Creek drainage and on over the ridge into the headwaters of Beverly Creek. Pacific silver fir (Abies amabilis), Grand fir (Abies grandis), subalpine fir (Abies lasiocarpa), whitebark pine (Pinus albicaulis), Douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) and mountain hemlock (Tsuga mertensiana) are dominant tree species.
