Saddle Bag Mountain RNA

Saddle Bag Mountain Research Natural Area (RNA) was established to represent old growth Pacific silver fir (Abies amabilis) and western hemlock (Tsuga heterophylla) forest types. Noble fir (Abies procera) and Pacific silver fir dominate higher elevations while western hemlock dominates remaining sections of the RNA. Oregon woodsorrel (Oxalis oregana) is the predominant shrub.
