3-PG is a process model based on Physiological Principles to Predict Growth.  It is designed for even-aged plantations of evergreen species, although it has been modified to simulate growth of deciduous forests and multiple storied tropical forests. Another form of the model is designed to be run using satellite-derived data for estimating light interception (3PGS).
