Practicum in Forest Science
Week 2
Some examples of behavioral, or “performance” objectives:
- Student
will be able to name the capitols of all the states in the U.S.
- Student
will be able to give the scientific and common names for local plant
species
- Student
will be able to write a paragraph on an assigned topic with no errors in
spelling or grammar.
- Student
will show enthusiasm for subject by voluntarily reading non-assigned
material.
- Student
will demonstrate interest and desire to help solve a local environmental
problem by voluntarily writing a letter to the editor of local newspaper,
joining a community task force, organizing a discussion of local citizens,
or other similar action.
- Student
will demonstrate competence in research by having a manuscript accepted
for publication by a peer-reviewed journal.
- Student
will demonstrate ability to think creatively by developing a logical and
novel hypothesis to explain a set of observations.
- Student
will be able to predict how a process (e.g., photosynthesis) will change
in response to a manipulation of the environment (e.g., temperature) and
to provide sound reasons for this prediction.
