WFIWC Logo
The drawing that appears above and below has been used for many years as the unofficial WFIWC logo. The organizing committee of the 1992 Western Forest Insect Work Conference that was held in Penticton B. C. wanted an appropriate drawing to serve as the 1992 meeting logo. As Peter Hall (B.C. Ministry of Forestry) recalls, "At the time, Dan Miller (now with the US Forest Service in the east) knew of an artist who did such work - I believe she was at Simon Fraser University at the time....she produced about half a dozen drawings of insects and we selected the weevil as our conference logo...I believe we paid the awesome sum of $100 (Canadian) for the drawing - a true steal."
