(l to r) F.C. Craighead, W.D. Edmonston, G. Hofer and F.P. Keen at Mile-and-a-Half Cabin, Kaibab N.F., Arizona. Sept. 3, 1924. Craighead was second Chief of Forest Insect Investigations, Wash. D.C.; Edmonston and Hofer were stationed in the Rocky Mtns. Keen was on a detail from the Palo Alto, CA, Station to the Kaibab N.F. to supervise control of a Black Hills beetle (= mountain pine beetle) outbreak. Photo no. 5548, WFIWC archives.
