The Bill Critchfield Student Award

W.B. Critchfield was a dear and trusted colleague and friend of many of us in forest genetics. In addition to his substantial scientific contributions in taxonomy and studies in basic genetic variation, he was an avid supporter of WFGA and understood the importance of students’ participation in the association. This award is a tribute to a student’s quality of work and presentation. In 2006, the award will be US$700 and is to be used to support participation in a scientific meeting of the winning student’s choice (to be used within a 2-year period), where the winner is encouraged to present his/her winning presentation. All students participating in the 2006 WFGA meeting and giving an oral presentation will be eligible for the award. The winner will be selected by a panel of WGFA members.
