Upcoming Meetings

The next Western Forest Genetics Association (WFGA) meeting will be held June 23-27, 2025 at Pennsylvania State University, State College, PA. This will be a joint conference with the Southern Forest Tree Improvement Committee (SFTIC) and the Northern Forest Genetics Association (NFGA). We look forward to seeing you all next summer in central PA.

William B. Critchfield Award

W.B. Critchfield was a dear and trusted colleague and friend of  many of us in forest genetics. In addition to his substantial scientific contributions in taxonomy and studies in basic genetic variation, he was an avid supporter of WFGA and understood the importance of students’ participation in the association. All students participating in a WFGA meeting and giving an oral presentation or presenting a poster will be eligible for this $700/$300 award. The award is a tribute to a student’s quality of work and presentation, and the winner will be selected by a panel of WGFA members.
