Hypermedia Version of Northwest Forest Plan Version 1.01

The Standards and Guidelines for the Northwest Forest Plan are now available in a Microsoft Windows hypermedia application that can be downloaded from this page.

In addition to the Standards and Guidelines themselves, the application also includes the FEMAT report (which gave rise to the Standards and Guidelines), and the Record of Decision pertaining to the and Northwest Forest Plan.

Instructions for Download and Install

NOTE: You must have Microsoft Windows (3.1, 95, 98, NT, 2000, or XP) and 28 MB of free disk space available for installation.

This section contains the instructions for downloading and installation. It is important that you follow them step by step. You might want to print a copy of this page for easy reference.

After downloading:

  1. Create a folder named femInstall on your C drive.
  2. Copy the forestEM.exe that you downloaded to this new folder.
  3. Double click on forestEM.exe to unpack the archive.
  4. Eleven files will be unzipped to the \femInstall folder.
  5. Double click on install.exe.
  6. In the install dialog, change the install path to C:\FORESTEM.
  7. Answer "Yes" when asked to create a program group.
  8. A new program group is created named "Forest Ecosystem Management."

You can delete the \femInstall folder when you are done.

You are now ready to enter the ForestEM hyperdocument. For questions or comments:
