The meeting will be a combination of symposia on selected topics, keynote lectures from biotechnology leaders inside and outside of forestry, and contributed talks and posters. Students are especially invited to make presentations.

Scientific Sessions for Contributed Papers

The IUFRO Unit on Molecular Biology of Forest Trees welcomes all research that uses molecular methods to study tree biology or biotechnology at the gene, genome, organism, population, ecological, and evolutionary levels.

Lecture and poster sessions at the meeting will include coverage of:

1. Molecular methods in population, ecological, and evolutionary studies
2. Applied biotechnology, including in vitro methods, transformation, field testing, and biosafety
3. Molecular biology and biotechnology of wood formation
4. Developmental genetics, maturation, and flowering
5. Linkage maps, QTL analyses, and genomics
