Theresa went to meet with other LTER GIS folks at the San Diego Supercomputer Center. There was iscussion of ArcIMS 4.0 and the metadata server. Once ours is upgraded to ArcIMS 4.0, Theresa will try out the metadata server. ** ArcIMS 4.0 is installed now and functioning after the meeting ** George has seen the metadata server and believes it has a core set of information that may be useful for the spatial data catalog. The metadata in the metatdata server isn't connected to dataset, so you have to remember to update in all places. 196 entries in our current spatial data catalog. Hopefully we can export our current data into the metadata server. Can we integrate the LARSE database? Currently an internal database. Tom Maiersperger controls the account access. ** Theresa to place a link to the LARSE database from the SDMG page. (More information from the San Diego Meeting later in meeting) - At the Metadata from SD there was discussion of EML (ecological mark-up language) In the metadata editor in arccatalog, you can make a new style sheet and custom editor. The LTER group wants someone to make a custom editor and style sheet.
