Theresa, Terralyn, and Son attended this seminar. It was very useful in explaining the differences between ArcIMS and ArcServer. GeoNorth is using arc Server and arcIMS. ArcIMS is better/faster at rendering maps, but does not do geoprocessing. ArcServer is not easy to deploy and it's expensive ($40,000). Visit for a good example of deployment of internet mapping. They are using ArcServer and have 12 servers running. They get a huge number of hits. portlandmaps.com Lunch was good too!
Theresa attended this meeting in Salem. The 2005 color ortho photos (1m and 0.5m) will be coming in February. UTM projection. There are compressed county mosaics (not quality checked) available. Contact apfo for the latest status on county availability. Theresa isn't sure how/what data we will be getting locally and she will contact the Forest Service Region 6 office to see what she can get. The state is talking about putting a portal up for this data and historic orthophotos. Note that the raw imagery (stereo pairs) will be available through the BLM.
Mark is ready to release installer. Some important upgrades. Also, there is an ESRI patch out for ArcSDE. ArcGIS 9.1 is now on all computer labs
