Nearest Neighbor Meeting in Minneapolis in August: Report from Matt: Matt mentioned that his nearest neighbor meeting was less ecological focused and more statistics focused. Mostly talk about error descriptions for small area analysis.

Guest Speaker:

Jonathan Thompson: "Fire Severity in a re-burned and salvage-logged portion of the Biscuit Fire. " Excellent presentation by Jonathan on his research project

Training needs:

What's new in 9.2 seminars: October 17 (eugene) and October 19th ( Portland). 9-4pm

Remote Sensing workshop in February 2007 (LaSelle Stewart Center)

Data:

The ESRI Free GIS Data DVDs are now located at t:\GIS\ESRI_Data.

Theresa will put the US ecoregion data in t:\GIS when she gets a chance

GIS Day Planning:

Theresa is going to ask Ken VB if he is going to ask FS department for GIS day money. Matt and Heather are backups for FS department. Keith is going to ask around in FR department for donations to GIS day (help for moving poster furniture and refreshments for speaker).
Combine GIS Day keynote with MidWillamette GIS Users Meeting? We decided to invite the folks but not to add on to our most excellent keynote!

Round table:

Dave: looking for a way to create land profiles from DEM with existing shapefiles. ESRI tools don’t seem to be easy to use.
