    Agenda:

  • 1. Brainstorm on Future Guest Speakers

    Suggested: Jim Kiser on Wine Growing, Forest Engineering Student who won ESRI model contest, Jeff McDonnald, Jonathan Thompson, Jeff Nighbert: Other topics: Someone on campus who is doing demographics/non-natural resource applications, someone from Metro on urban greenspace or landuse planning, Jeff Klein on landuse stuff, Jimmy Kagen, John Hak from the Natural Heritage Program, someone from EPS. Theresa will find speaker for October, then Matt will help line them up.

  • 2. Python Group

    Good meeting with small group. Need to check the message board as people are posting problems. Theresa to send out messages to users. Looking at topic for meeting on arcobjects in the future.

  • 3. Status of ArcGIS 9.1

    Mark is finalizing installer. ArcGIS 9.1 is now on all computer labs

  • 4. Training needs:
    ArcGIS for Beginners/for ArcView-Arc/Info users in October
    Terralyn looking for classes on server technology
    ArcIMS without the SDE
  • 5. GIS Helpdesk: nothing new to report
  • 6: 2005 DOQ's

    Meeting was cancelled. Should be available in March, maybe?

  • 7. GIS Day November 16

    Starting to plan details with Geosciences group. Will need posters, and people to help with GPS walk.

  • 8. Round table:

    Terralyn: Rubble is updated to SDE 9.1 and she's installed the ARcGIS Engine Developer Kit

    Dave: Look at hydro toolbar . On the left hand side where there is what looks like a table of contents, navigate to Samples, then Spatial Analyst, then Hydrologic Modeling. At the bottom of the page in Hydrologic Modeling is a link to download the suite of .dll files and other things one needs for the HM toolbar to work, as well as instructions on how to use it.

    Dave loaded 9.1 and hasn't noted any problems.

    Kelly: Complaint with running ArcGlobe, the base layers don't show up when he starts up the globe. He also noted that Jeff Nighbert was running his stream program.

    Theresa: Old computer lab computers are available for purchase. Contact Paul Foshay for more information.
