Denis talked about early GIS and his years of working at the Harvard Labratory for Computer Graphics and Spatial Analysis. .

Awards

An award plaque was given to Sharon Clarke for her many years of service to the GIS community. Presenting the award was Tom Adams, Forest Science Department Head.
An award certificate was given to the Denis White.

Meetings:

  • Mid Willamette Valley GIS group: June 10
  • State Standards Meeting: Bend June 23
  • Down and Dirty Electronic Soils Data Training: Lane Council of Govenments June 17
  • ESA in Portland: first week in August
  • ESRI Conference in San Diego: 2nd week in August (George might be attending, Theresa will be attending)
  • Discrete Global Grids: Ashland October 27

    Training:

    SDE/ArcIMS: Theresa will try and get a room scheduled for one day in July.

    ArcGIS 9.0 Upgrade:

    CD has arrived, Mark will be working up install with Theresa and Matt as tests.

    NAD27 Conversion:

    Discussion about e-mail on problems with conversions between NAD 27 and 83. Theresa will add to Tips and Tricks page.

    Round Table:

    FYI: There is a new journal, the Journal of Conservation Planning that is seeking submissions. www.journalconsplanning.org
    Be forewarned: When doing a resolution shift in ARC GRID, don't set the window and cell at once. You'll get the wrong results.
    The way to do it:
    setcell xxxxxx
    temp = ingrid
