Images of the Month October 2002

Landscape pattern and the spatial distribution of cutthroat trout in Camp Creek, Oregon, 2001. Created by Christian Torgersen and Bob Gresswell, Forest and Rangeland Ecosystem Science Center (FRESC)

Vertical bars indicate the relative abundance of trout sampled in pool and cascade habitats with single-pass electrofishing. Three-dimensional terrain and data visualization were generated with a 10-m digital elevation model (DEM) in ArcScene (ArcGIS). Scenes can be rotated in space to view at any angle. Animations of the rotating landscape may be recorded in audio video interleave (AVI) format using MapAnimator.
