The Environmental Protection Agency Pacific Northwest
Ecosystem Research Consortium (PNW-ERC) is developing a high
resolution land cover map of the Willamette River basin (WRB)
in northwest Oregon using 1992 LANDSAT Thematic Mapper data
combined with ground reference data from a variety of sources.
The products of this effort include three Land Use/ Land Class
(LULC) digital images, and several forest cover images.

Description
Abstract:
This data set is an ARC/Info vector coverage of 71 closed conifer
age testing polygons within the Willamette River Basin, Oregon.
The cover classes represent observed and predicted conifer forest
age values.
Purpose:
To provide a highly accurate, high spatial resolution
vegetation cover digital image of the Willamette River Basin
for use in forest & wildlife management and regional ecology
studies.

Procedures_Used:
Five different LANDSAT Thematic Mapper images from 1992 were
interpreted for spectral variation and labelled using ground
reference data from a variety of sources. For details, see
