Finding effective ways
of delivering and sharing information has been a priority for
the CFER program. The information Exchange portion of the Cooperative
Forest Ecosystem
Research (CFER) program was initiated in 1998 to assess needs
and facilitate information flow to CFER cooperators and the
broader scientific and management communities in the Pacific
Northwest. The Information Exchange program has a set of goals
that guide the development of activities
and products related to information exchange, which are
carried out by personnel specifically
assigned to these duties.
Goals
The
goals of the CFER Information Exchange program are to:
1.
Identify
and prioritize research topics by assessing needs of managers
and researchers within the cooperating organizations
2.
Develop
appropriate mechanisms to convey information
3.
Ensure
effective and timely transfer of research information
to the scientific and management community
4.
Facilitate
continued two-way communication between managers and researchers
The
CFER Administrative Assistant oversees the main CFER office,
and is responsible for website design, document generation, budgeting, and facilitating communication among CFER personnel and
cooperators.
