CFER is an integrated
research program that is the result of an emerging research
paradigm: collaborative, multi-disciplinary, integrated research
that is supported by multiple organizations and agencies. CFER
is part of a network of ecosystem research
partnerships that have recently evolved as a result of an
emphasis on ecosystem management in forests of the Pacific Northwest.
There are an increasing number of Web
sites and journal articles that
describe components, processes, interactions, and management
strategies of these forest ecosystems.
