Systematic aerial photos
Aerial black
and white 1:12,000: 1939, 1952, 1962, and 1968.
Aerial color 1:15,840: 1972; 1:12,000: 1979,
1984, 1989, and 1993.
Aerial black and white (digital 1-m
resolution): 2000.
Including ownership, streams, lakes, roads,
digital elevation map to 10 m, geology, soils, stand descriptors,
watersheds, plant associations, riparian vegetation in
100-ft buffers along fish-bearing streams, land types, landslide
potential, and others.
Including 1988 TM images (25-m pixels),
precipitation, 1946 site index, and temperature.
The total
resource inventory management records on microfiche with exacting
detail on activities (like pounds of 2-4D applied per acre), with detailed
maps.
About 2000 plots were measured on 155 older
managed stands. These exams include tree diameters and species on
variable-radius plots, under-story type and cover, snags and logs, and
subsampled tree height and age.
All harvested units cut 1982-1988 were
surveyed by State and Private Forestry, mainly for root rot; also
information on other diseases, insects, and
windthrow.
Current vegetation survey: 26 intensive
plots are in the watershed, with multiple smaller plots nested in 1-ha plots;
tree, snag, woody debris, and understory data.
These include a 100% tree tally of species
and diameter on BLM sales in the study area.
Forest Service cruise
records
We have seen a binder with many cruise and
contract records, including estimated and actual wood volumes.
